Travel Advisory: Registration upon Arrival
Urgent notice to all travelers: Foreign citizens staying in the Russian Federation for more than 7 business days must register their stay with the local migration office. Hotel administrators handle this automatically, but private renters must ensure their host completes the registration to avoid administrative fines or deportation.
Customs Regulations: Currency and Valuables
Travelers are reminded of Russian customs laws: declaring currency is mandatory when carrying cash or monetary instruments equivalent to $10,000 USD or more. Additionally, the temporary import of personal electronic equipment (laptops/cameras) valued over a certain threshold requires a declaration upon arrival to ensure re-export without duties.
