World congratulates Zimbabwe on 46th Independence Day
Zimbabwe was inundated with congratulatory messages from around the world as it marked its 46th Independence Day anniversary on Saturday.
Many nations, along with international, continental, and regional organisations, sent their sincere congratulations to Zimbabwe, expressing goodwill and warm wishes on the occasion.
Main celebrations to commemorate the momentous milestone were held in Maphisa.
In its message, the United Nations (UN) reiterated its commitment to working with Zimbabwe toward a brighter and more inclusive future.
“Happy 46th Independence Day, Zimbabwe. We join Zimbabweans in celebrating a legacy of resilience, determination and shared progress,” the world body said on its X handle.
“We honour the past, reflect on the present and reaffirm our collective commitment to building a brighter inclusive future for all.”
China reaffirmed its support for Zimbabwe, describing the two countries as genuine friends and trusted partners, and pledging to move together toward shared progress and a more hopeful future.
“Happy 46th Independence Day, Zimbabwe! Today we celebrate 46 years of sovereignty, courage, and the unyielding spirit of the great people of Zimbabwe,” said Beijing.
“China stands with Zimbabwe as a sincere friend and partner, walking hand in hand toward shared development and a brighter future.
The Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe extends heartfelt wishes to the Government and people of Zimbabwe — may peace, progress and prosperity always be with you.”
The Russian Embassy in Zimbabwe congratulated the country, saying the mutually beneficial collaboration between Harare and Moscow was appreciated.
“April 18th is Independence Day in Zimbabwe! Russia and Zimbabwe are actively interacting on the international stage based on matched or close positions,” Russia said.
“We sincerely congratulate our African friends on their national holiday! We wish them well-being and prosperity.”
In its message, SADC said Zimbabwe’s achievements were worth celebrating.
